HYT Skull by HYT (Hytromechanical Horologists) provided a new model of the watch in 2015-there are two versions. The skull watch is nothing new, but this is the first skull watch we have seen in a futuristic style. The first step is to use HYT’s proprietary fluid when instructing the “capillary” system to create the skull outline. At the time of release, HYT Skull will provide two versions, one is DLC black titanium alloy with green liquid, and the other is 18K rose gold, DLC black titanium with red liquid. How exactly do these functions work, or how clear are they? These are the things I have to comment later when I will use the HYT Skull watch for hands-on operation.
Inside the HYT Skull watch is an exclusive HYT movement. You can integrate its proprietary bellows and capillary system to move liquids, which can be seen under the “teeth” of the skull. The rear of the case can be seen through the sapphire crystal glass window, adding a bright appearance to the movement. The movement operates at 4Hz (28,800 bph) and has a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. I like the traditional idea of designing it with modern aesthetics. Of course, the matching green or red colored sapphire crystal feels good, adding charm to the overall appearance of the HYT Skull watch.
HYT has made it clear that although these two debuted HYT skulls are limited editions, there will be other versions of HYT skulls in other colors and materials in the future. This is not a “pilot’s watch” in the traditional sense. The HYT H2 pilot uses HYT’s innovative liquid system to display time: two bellows at the 6 o’clock position work mechanically to move the yellow liquid in the yellow capillary around the dial edge. The position of the liquid indicates the current time (the gray hour index of this model is illuminated). According to the instructions of HYT, the pointer in the center position will show the minute, and an unusual “jump” will appear at 30 minutes to “avoid ripples”. This is why people see two “30” indicators at 6 o’clock.
HYT has introduced a heat indicator to eliminate the effect of heat and cold on the velocity on the position of the fluid. The temperature indicator shows whether the wholesale watch is within the optimal temperature range to be processed.
